Tobias Hoffmann ist ein mehrfach ausgezeichneter Saxophonist, Komponist und Arrangeur aus Deutschland. Als Leiter seines Jazzorchesters und Nonetts schafft er orchestrale Jazzwelten, die zeitgenössische Big-Band-Tradition, europäische Jazzästhetik und improvisatorische Freiheit miteinander verbinden. Tobias Hoffmann is a multi-award-winning saxophonist, composer, and arranger from Germany. Leading his Jazz Orchestra and Nonet, he creates orchestral jazz worlds that fuse contemporary big-band tradition, European jazz aesthetics, and improvisational freedom. I’m very happy to share that I was awarded 1st Prize in Category C at the 2026 edition of the international Scrivere in Jazz competition in Sardinia, Italy.
This year’s competition was particularly interesting for me, as the task was to create an arrangement of original music by the great Italian pianist and composer Enrico Pieranunzi. It was a real pleasure to work with his music and to explore it through my own voice as an arranger.
This is now my third 1st Prize at Scrivere in Jazz. I previously won Category B in 2022 and Category A in 2024. With this year’s award, I have now won the competition in all three categories:
2022 — 1st Prize, Category B
2024 — 1st Prize, Category A
2026 — 1st Prize, Category C
